Im 40 now and have never been abroad as an adult.

I'm currently 8ft away from a work colleague who's away at least 4 times a year.

I don't get that at all. I'd much rather spend 2 grand on a watch that i can have for life or turn into money again, than the ever fading memories of sone other country. Not knocking it, each to their own and all that, but i'm not a big earner and holidays seem like such a waste of money to me.
I have never fully understood it either. And please can we shut up about watches - makes my fingers itch. Dabbled in this more than a few years ago and managed to be left with nothing. Twitch. Twitch.

The new Omega range is right up your street Mash.
So I am told by an expert (an ex is something that was
and a spert is a drip under pressure) the movement is
better than that in the Rolex Oyster. Not bad for a£3g
watch.
James Bond wears Omega!!! 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)
ESN wears Omega :geek:
mind you so do I. :ugeek:
BUT ED DOES NOT
Buy one Mash, Flash the cash

Some aspects of "Man Vanity" I can comprehend,- hair style, physique, well tailored clothes, Youth etc.
(But there is only one member here glimpsed me yet!)
A £3 Grand watch does not make a fat old man look good!
This is my current watch, on my current wrist, but the grass needs mowing, so that may change!
The strap was replaced with a £1.25 chinese Stainless one when last years DEET melted the plastic original.
It tells the time accurately enough, it's waterproof, I never take it off.
It works for me.
Anyway enough of this,I need to get back on the AB trainer.

Antique oysters

My issue is I don't wear a watch. I know what the time is. Maybe not quite as accurate as Jack Reacher but....

Swiss watches are for those of us that appreciate the intricate, perfectly machined movements, cogs, wheels and springs that combine to a miniature mechanical heartbeat. The exquisite finishing of the finest materials, the anti reflective sapphire glass that you can hardly even see, the perfectly applied indices with nothing even remotely wonky or askew.

I suppose the same reasons that some would prefer a Saville Row suit over an off the shelf Marksies number.
