there was a recipe on the old archive (gonna miss that huge thanks to all that contributed to it, it was an amazing resource) that used golden syrup think ED linked it in a post. Question is can I swap out sugar for golden syrup and molasses to make really sticky rum wash - are the sugars in golden syrup all fermentable or is it like the molasses where it is only partially so. It's distinctly different to rum but I have made some hybrids that I at least found good.

From memory. A lot of guys used to used to cut molasses 50-50 with white sugar. Molasses can be very strong.

I made some up @ 100% and it was eye wateringly flavoursome, And not necessarily in a good way.

Have a poke through the archive. There is some relevant stuff in there as well as the cachaca recipe.
