Hi lads i am going to start a sloe gin in the morning ive got about 2,1/2lb of last years sloes in the freezer i normaly make a gallon of sloe and a gallon damson every year i coulduntdo damson last year there wasunt much fruit about were i live

Cor, bleedin\' hell alan. You\'re lucky to have any sloes as well, there was virtually nothing around here at all - though I didn\'t work out whether it was a rain/lack of pollination thing or a late frost/cold snap.
Luckily there looks like being plenty this year!
I\'d guess that starting it as early as this, would give it plenty of time to "mash", giving a nice, strongly flavoured batch.
Good luck with it.
p.s. Oh and maybe you could post the recipe you use for others to try "as and when" ?

That\'ll probably be corrected if I added more gin - which is the eventual intention.......
