I would say it easily good for 6 months probably longer. I know it's not relevant, but I have frozen Grape pulp for 3 years in trials and it then made a superb wine.

I have frozen successfully frozen all sorts of things including yeast. The freezer is a very under-utilised/misunderstood piece of equipment.. IMO.

Is it worth it? That's as simple as do you want to run with back set or not. I am sure the freezing will be successful

I was wondering if you could freeze it in old plastic milk bottles and how long can you leave it before you use it or if it’s even worth doing.
