Interestingly reversing the polarity to a peltier element can cause it to cool or heat, it could be an all in one solution for heating and cooling, a relay could be used to reverse the polarity when it gets too cool to make it heat and vice versa, I feel a bit of research into my very faded knowledge of peltier elements is needed.

The difference in temperature of the two surfaces causes a thermoelectric change. The peltier effect.

But it does beg the question if fermentation cooling is really a requirement in the UK ;D

Maybe you will be able to incorporate some sort of foot rest, as tall bar stools do?
Anyway, best of luck with the build.

Main aim even if bench is a little
high is not to waste space in the man cave.
Anyway if legs are dangling a bit, when they
fall off due to alcoholic overdose we can
mark them out of 10 like the divers in the
olympics ;D

At 2'6" will this be tall enough??....just a thought. ???
