Leatherman's first language is not English.
He has been on this site for longer than his profile shows, and I admire him for trying his best when he is here.

With a dictionary and some time, I might manage a really badly worded post on a French forum. I have a reasonable understanding of the French language

I am not surprised that this forum is used by people for whom English is not their first language; We are generally a friendly and helpful bunch of people.

We get some seemingly highly eloquent knob heads here, this thread was started by one.

We even have people that don't proof read all of their posts. ;)
But I am not going to ban Mash for that. ;D

Robert.

Coming back to compresing heads. So if I understand right, this happens not during distilation, but somehow preparing mash before distilation. Where I can not thing anything else apart letting wash to clear. Where I think I understand something wrong here. Can someone give me real example of compresing heads from personal experience. To compare "with compresed heads I got this, and without compresed heads I got this". Many thanks :)

No really - compress not remove. Compressing the heads mean to tighten them up. So they are easier and more precise to cut.

Quit the attitude eh! Theres a good chap. We are a polite bunch here and it will stay that way.

My point being that there is little point in asking for a definitive answer to a contentious question.

.. And it does seem a hobby that has more than a few.

As you say Mash, there are so many ways to skin a rabbit, and many opinions of the best one.

As has happened here, when someone asks the best shape for copper boil pieces, you say coins, I say it doesn't matter; your experience has shaped your opinions, and the same for me.
We do both recommend using some though.

My point being that there is little point in asking for a definitive answer to a contentious question.

Robert.

Have you done a neutral previously using the double distill method and not been happy with the results? And is that why you are trying the bicarb?

I'm new to this myself and not done a neutral yet but have a wash fermenting. Currently doing last spirit run on a batch of Rum.
