Over here Tesco have loads of it, not sure of the origin but pretty sure it's not grown here ???

When I said, "...pretty sure it's not grown here" I meant the currently available batch in Tesco.

Kale is a standard crop in Ireland but usually grown in August/September and harvested in October. ;)

Traditionally it is used here at Halloween (All Hallows Eve) to make a dish known as Colcannon of which there are many variations. Personally I think it was just a way to make kids eat their greens for fear of demons that might come to get you if you left any on your plate :D

Can't wait to see the results from your adventure. ;D

The amount in your recipe doesn't sound much for flavour, but could be a very good yeast nutrient.
I would be interested in the outcome.
Do let us know how it turns out.

Robert.

One day I'll have the patience to figure out how to add location etc to what shows about me on this site.
For now,I am in Scotland;and we grow acres of it!
