More to question is yeast food.
With patience the wheat should provide all that is needed.
For those that lack patience, take your pick of known yeast nutrients, and speed it up by 5-7 days.

Good idea to boil a desert spoonful of yeast to put in
the wash, yeast are parasitic. By boiling the yeast you
kill it and the live yeast will feed on it, Myles told
me that, and seems to work well for me.
Bread yeast is very good for what we do and cheap :)
