The old rule of thumb was a bag per gallon.
If you have an Air still you need to decide on the product you want to get.
Brown Sugar = Rum
white sugar = Vodka = check out the lentil wash recipe.

@Popcorn S: It will all depend on the amount of sugar you started with. Adding a bag if you started out less than you should have could give you a great finish. If you started out with a workable amount of sugar then adding a bag could be counter productive and/or a waste of sugar.

I use .25kg per lt of water. That is on the high side but it works for me. I also never use white sugar. There is no nutrition in it so that has to be added. I use raw brown sugar. My method of distillation determines if it becomes a rum or a neutral.

Adding more sugar doesn't mean a higher ABV if the yeast has reached the max level of alcohol it can tolerate, it might stall if the alcohol level gets too high. Also if the yeast is OK for a higher ABV you may need to add extra nutrients to feed it.

i have know idea about what would happen if i added an extra bag of sugar to my next brew what would happen when fermenting and putting though the air still
