Just a quick note and a huge thanks to Ice Fever for all his pics and helpful advice on how to save my 30 Litre Boiler from the scrapheap.... Went to my local brass foundry here in town with my broken tap and backnut in hand...... As it turns out the tap and nut were a 3 8th imperial size and the foundry set me up with a new brass tap and nut at the bargain price of $15.50 and went fitted it in 10 mins and she's good to go for tomorrows TPW run.

Thanks once again.... The info and experience gained on here is invaluable and very much appreciated :) :) :)

You need a tank connector like either of these..

You may have to open the hole in your boiler the same, as those plastic taps are a little smaller dia.

Food grade washer on the inside, through the hole, washer on the outside.

Pop the nut on and tighten.

When you've fitted the connector a short length of 15mm copper pipe and stick a tap on the end...the tap is the washing machine type, you can get everything you need from your local plumbers shop...hey presto
