I understand malting converts the starches in the grain to fermentable sugars, but my thinking was that if micronising releases the starches from the grain then logic would suggest that mashing and use of enzyme would convert the released starch to sugars ? Perhaps I’m wrong

I don't need to try it, I can only liken it to putting sugar in your fuel tank to make the car run sweeter - it sort of sounds right but we know it ain't gonna work.


What recipe had you got in mind?

Malted is key to getting the sugar for fermentation.

Torrified, micronized, Boiled, baked and buggered is not the same.
