No scorn intended on my part Seagull - we've all got ideas that may sound mad to others - just this one went quite off the rails when someone (Mash, I think) chucked a loaf into a kale wash. I couldn't really see what that was going to bring to the kale party (deemed mad in itself, a bit back, yet turned out excellent) other than an odd after taste! Sometimes you have to try these things.

Glad it turned out to be drinkable, and maybe an indication of how unpleasant turbos actually can be!

Cheers

Hampk

I know this subject has caused a bit of scorn but thought I'd share my results anyway since it's my first ever non turbo wash.

Stripped and spirit run with my airstill. Have to say I've rediscovered a love for my little Dalek!

Made my cuts into 9 mini Kilners and left to breathe last night. A quick taste of the hearts and I wasn't disappointed.

Tasted nice but I only have turbos to compare with.

Will let it age a bit and see how it goes.

Remember, it's just a silly experiment!!

if you look closely the sliced weighs a bit more than the unsliced plus its the same cost

It was my dumbness that desired to substitute Soreen on account of having no way to buy Bolletjes!

I'm enjoying the experiment, and if it turns out shite it'll be added to the next strip in the T500 :)

I bought two. The one I have eaten is a very poor relation to its former self ( when they used to come in wax wrappers)

The one in the bucket is as good as done - and has little discernible flavour - even before stripping.

ODIN has a lot to answer for on this one :) :) :)

Just did a stripping run with the airstill. Early indications are that it may have an interesting subtle flavour.

Don't tell me - let me guess - maltloaf? I'm still trying to get my head around why anyone would want to ferment maltloaf!
