Looks like a toy with possibilities.

New you've got a couple under your belt as they say, it would be appreciated if you would answer a question that I can find no information on.

I am a Bourbon Drinker, and there are the obvious issues of Maize and Gel.

I was thinking along the following lines and would it stay loose enough for a Braumeister to pump around:

Recipe
Rolled Maize / Corn 65%, Malted Barley 25%, Malted Wheat 10%. (all mixed)

Multi Step Mash

Dough in - 36 deg C (Bottom of the Gum Breaking temp range)
Beta Glucanase break, Protein break then finally the Beta Amylase break for sugar extraction.

It might all be pie in the sky, I've looked on all the usual forums and can't see anyone having tried it before or written about it.

Thanks in advance.

I couldn't possibly afford it anytime soon, but - as you say - it's an investment for the future.

I'll be keeping this in mind for a few years.

Thanks for sharing.

Put in 8kg of home ground Grist and 20 litres of water once up to first temperature Programmed it for a 10 min protein rest at 52 Degrees 60 mins main mash at 62, 30 mins at 73 and 10 mins at 78 (I think) All the while it just runs quietly away with the pump constantly pushing the wash through the grain and it tells you where you are and time left in each phase

By the end I got 20 plus litres out at 1076 og after sparging with another 4.5 litres and it seemed to drain off quite quickly the whole process took just over 3 hours no mess and a very clear wash loads of smoke smell carried through

Down side well I wish they had made it to do a full 25 litres as I still added 1.5kg of LME and some water to bring it up to volume but I can live with this. Also there quite a lot to clean afterwards but being all stainless its not too much effort

So all in all love it ;)
