Despite it's size, and as bobnot says, you can make some really good stuff with an Airstill. I make Bourbon and Vodka and, if I say so myself, I make bloody good stuff too, but my point is that I'm still using an Airstill.

Can I offer some advice which I proffer as a three part Golden Rule to distill by:
1 Don't try to squeeze every last %of alcohol from any wash you make;
2 An average ABV wash will be much cleaner than a high ABV turbo one;
3 In the course of following this hobby, even with just and Airstill, you'll make more alcohol than you will ever consume so don't skimp when you have to discard part of what you've made for your own safety.

Whatever you decide - enjoy it and be safe.

Yes they are ideal for a novice i nearly made the mistake of buying an expensive still that i clearly wouldnt of known how to use properly or safely and you can make some really good stuff with the airstill.
Definitely the best place to start while you get to grips with it all.
