I'm working on the where, I'll need to talk/email whichever site and check if there maybe a rally type area which we could use.

And remove any implied sexism/gay phobia thoughts from your minds.
I would want to meet the partners of stilling colleagues.
I would also not object too much to a mini Anavrin spilling my Whisky; this event, if it happens, is a "Family" thing, I have no objection to children being present...
Possibly, they are even a bonus, this should be like minded people meeting, not hard core piss heads trying to outdo each other.
I will travel to any location.

OK Brian, pick a date, say it is so.
Say it is where.
Sorry to put you under pressure here, but you put your neck in the noose.
I will be there to try and shoot the rope ;D

But do it soon.
Don't feck around trying to please everyone. Whatever you organise will please me
And then get it away from here.
I wish to delete this thread. :)

Robert.

Plus if it's going to be a bigger event, we should perhaps have a little competition, (no prises) but maybe create a few categories like Vodka, whisky, dark rum, white rum etc.

It's the middle of our "summer" :D :D and Aug is the only month that is easier for Mrs Ice.

What date do you have in mind???

Not saying it is or must be "lads only" ....just observation that it most likely will be.
On that basis I was just trying to make it easy for us chaps to get a pass, by avoidng the obvious conflicts?

PS are you magnetically attracted to AUGUST :)

This cannot be organised by comittee style tactics. You cannot please all of the people all of the time. Letting them know that an event is happening with good notice is the best that can be done, IMHO.

Right one more go at a date. ....as the 2017 bank holiday fell flat, why when it can add up to 3/4 days off making a long weekend.

The "lad's only" suggestion went down like a concrete balloon with Mrs Ice, she wants to know why?? She thinks it would be great for the girls to have a natter while the guys do our thing.

With a rethink then what about the 2nd weekend in Aug?? the 12/13?

Pick a date real soon.
I will be doing a more local week away sometime next August, but will do bestest to fit it around a M&G.
Just pick a date mate, as I have previously stated, the location is less important for me than the date for myself.
Given warning, be there or be square!

Robert

It is hard, I'm only going on what the members put down for their locations....so do I take it that you 3 guys are "up for it" :D .

I will have time over the next 11 months to search out a possible place. Also we should try to keep it say over a 2 day event....that way it gives folks the time to travel there on the Fri, and then the return on the Mon.
