In the meantime I have tried vino-tinto's idea of packing the T500 with one copper scrubber and the rest with stainless steel scrubbers. From a 25 litre wash I discarded the first 250 ml (after a 20 min reflux) my total spirit takeoff was around 2.5 litres at 93%.
Question ? How much good stuff should one expect from a 25 litre wash? ???

Good news on the Brewhouse then...I had to fit a new tap to my beer HLT last year...must admit I don't like these plastic taps on this 500 boiler...might change it this week as I'm still off work.... ;D ;D

The drain tap got itself blocked with those tiny ceramic saddles, so I'm going to fit a new 1/2" tap. I have to file/drill to make the new tap fit though Image

Good luck with your build.

Thank you for your input. Fortunately my garden tap has an anti syphon device built in so no worries John.

Electrics sorted today Image and just a couple of hours in the morning to finish the insulation. :) Then the plumbing and shelving, It should be finished next week if no problems arise Image

Now it's time to configure the layout, water supply, electrics etc.

Spent the afternoon spraying the inside with water repellent just in case of spillage as I'm clumsy at times. (bloody arthritis) Image

So I will do all sorts of jobs with the hot water such as cleaning floors thoroughly and, lately, using the hot water to help break down paper to pulp for compressed paper fire logs - which works a treat. The waste water from the pulp then goes into my garden.

So the moral of the story is (I s'pose) is if you have to pay (extra) for your water, make it work more than the once. ;D
