I only use about 6kg of GS this time as 7.5kg was too much last time. That way I have an extra wash every 6 bottles..poured all the kale into the bucket, added the yeast and away it went.
It's now in the ferm fridge at 26c..this is the highest I've ever set a wash...looking forward to running it.

The SG is 1.074..that'll do for me. ;)

Now, this is only a stab in the dark, but I would guess that you don't like Juniper :D

I don't think it would be a good base for gin as the GS does shine through...but having said that...what's to stop you trying a small batch, the sweetness of the GS may add something to the drink??? just a thought. ;D

It's the taste..the GS comes through...speed doesn't bother me...it's not the cheapest compared to sugar, but for me it comes back to taste...remember crap in..crap out. ;)

It's as easy as a sugar wash.

Got it. So a good drink in its own right but perhaps not the best base for a gin?

Give it a go Googe...they say GS is cheaper where you are now than in Aus..this maybe my Number 1 wash from now on. ;) starting another one this weekend.

Do you think the Kale speeded the wash or
if poss kept it cleaner??

Just GS/kale/dried yeast....nothing else.
Can't say it went faster or cleaner..in fact it was a little "cloudy" when it went in the boiler..
It took 7/10 days to finish, before I stripped it.
