I've been looking at some of those moonsihine type recipes, and some of them use malt, some just use corn, rye and sugar.
So that's me presuming that if it's got malt, you're actually mashing etc, whereas if it's not got any malt and uses sugar, then the corn/rye/whatever is just there for flavour.
Not at all sure I could get away with making anything properly anyway, as I've nosey neighbours on one side and don't get on with them......
so I'd guess that even something like a grain based neutral for a gin would likely be out because of the smell......
Likewise, is it actually that much cheaper to mill your own malt or other grain (even though it's a marvellous looking piece of kit, very reminiscent of an apple mill, like the ones that Vigo sell.......Statistics: Posted by Phantom — Mon Dec 23, 2013 4:15 pm
