I agree with Admiral Toad its quite painless ordering from Brewhaus. I emailed them and asked as I could only find Express International postage option on the checkout which is quite pricey at $40. They told me to just order that and put a message with the order to post FIRST CLASS and they would refund the difference in the postage. I ordered 4 x 4oz. They promptly refunded the difference in postage cost to my Paypal account. The small box arrived really quickly, only took 6 days to arrive. I put a small test batch on yesterday and it looks very clear already. I've also got a molasses wash clearing with it and its looking good too. Great service, very helpful email communication, quick delivery. I got 4 x 4oz plus postage cost me about £19 all in.

Partly concur, as I haven't actually got round to ordering yet, but I emailed them to clarify (no pun intended) the shipping costs, as they seemed high on the site.

The response was that if I ask for the cheapest shipping possible, they could get it down as low as about $13 if I wasn't in too much of a hurry...... I'm not, obviously.

Yet I'll be checking their site more fully as I need to get some more FermaidK as well, and possibly a few other bits that're hard to find here......

Your presumption about my siphon is correct. My fermenters and carboys are a couple of litre's short of what I'd like. I will have to tame my desires and leave some back. Ah Patience... I found that if you leave the wash a few days after the Sparkolloid is added the lees in a 26lt wash occupy just 1lt at the bottom. Even in my 60lt fermentors I make the wash up to 55lt and rack off just 50lt with an auto siphon. 8)

I'm presuming that you are using a siphon with some sort of cup arrangement at the bottom of the siphon to prevent direct pickup of sediment.

Personally I wouldn't use gelatine because I don't believe it will solve your problem. The real solution is time, patience and a good quality siphon - I know because I used to be a man in a hurry to get the wash into the still :D :D :D

Doesn't stick the yeast together as much as turbo clear IMHO so have to watch sediment when filtering

Brewhaus shipped it in what the USPS calls a "Small Flat Box" at a cost of just US$10.

Those who know better than me say you should use 10g per 25lt wash. Each pack weighs 113g (4oz), so 4 packs weighing 452g means the 4 packs will do 45 washes :o That's some saving. Works out at 0.30 pence per wash. Compared to standard Turbo Clear that's a saving of GBP£1 per wash. ;D

I get most of my supplies etc from them. Fast shipping and fair rates (at least inside Canada). He may sell in larger quantities if you want. If 113g is all you want, our Light Package postal rate should get it there cheaply.

Brewhaus in Texas charge the equivalent GBP1.85 (USD2.95) for a 113g pack - almost three times the size but only 70% of the Canadian price! :o

Anyone would think I worked for Brewhaus in Texas! :D :D :D

I just read Brewhaus.ca (Canada) website. They sell to all the world except USA and they sell sparkolloid at IMHO is a good price. Sparkolloid is a wine finning so there should not be a problem.
