NAF do a few different formulas, the "low sugar blend" is best avoided as its only 17% sugar, and the same price. You will need to add additional sugar which makes the whole thing rather pricey. Its also got added veg oil which forms an oily scum on the wash, and "can" be bitter when distilled.

Their standard formula is nearly 70% sugar, and works out about 1KG of sugar per litre, so makes it quite easy to work out how much to add. You can pick the 25L jerry cans up for about £26.

By golly,it is interesting to learn of some of the products that "older hands" have tried!

same website ... says 40% sugar...

the other one says LOW SUGAR in its description....

says Quote:

NAF Molasses is a relatively low-sugar, easy pour blend that can be easily added to feed to enhance palability. NAF Molasses also act as a natural dust suppressant in feed.

Neigh....- should be OK, I use horse feed molasses all the time.

But I promise you it will taste nothing like Bacardi, you are setting your sights far too low.

Check out Captain C's threads on rum, I have had the privilege of tasting his and when I did I thought an angel has peed on my tongue. (that apparently is a Dutch compliment and not a fetish of mine).

Rum John is also a fountain of knowledge, havn't tasted his yet.
