Knobby requested this in another thread, so I thought I would post in its own one in case it is of general interest. I have put together a spreadheet to calculate the cost of producing 1 litre of spirit or of a flavoured blend. Its based on the airstill and website cost from our good friend Richard at Wineworks. Clicking on the link below should allow you to open the file and save it on your local hard drive.

A few comments on the structure:
Mash SS Turbo and Mash TPW are basically the same calculations, but one of the SS Turbo and one for the Tomato Paste Wash -I am guessing a little this as I haven't done it on a 25 l scale yet.
The cost per Litre of 40% ABV in cell G19 feeds through into the sheet Flavourings Wineworks. I noticed that the new Icon range uses 50% proof so I guessed at the dilution needed for 50% at 200 mls per 700 mls of 60% instead of the 300 mls I usually use to get 40%.
On the flavourings tab most of the costs for Classic and Top Shelf are the same so I only did the calculation once, adding the dilutions and ending up with a price / litre of flavoured spirit in column L.
On the Mash tabs, just replace the items or input your local costs to make it relevent to your production. On the TPW tab, the units are sometimes g or mls - it should be pretty obvious.
I tend to put the entire batch through one carbon filter btw.
Everyone has their own yields as far as I can see. I have based it on 3 runs. A primary run of 4 litres in the airstill gives me 700 mls after 2hr 15 mins. I run it a further 40 mins and collect 400 mls around 30% in a separate container.
Then every 2nd wash I put 4 litres of 30% through to get another litre. To make the calculations work I have put it as 0.5 of a still run to average it out.
Electricity costs are my average KWh - input your own costs in C34. Update the number of minutes each of your runs take and everything should update.
I am using Kwikclear finings for the first time and its very significant cost saving on Turbo clear assuming it does what is says and only need 5 mls per 25 l.
Anyway, hope that is of some interest.
regards
