I cheerfully use a large old pickle jar for nuking samples of product, but would swap it out for another if I noticed signs of deterioration.
For longer term aging,I might spend the extra,to protect my investment.
Says the man who last week drove away from home leaving 5 litres of 68% Cachaca sitting in a softly corked demi-john on oak chunks.
Colouring nicely, when I left, and SO looking forward to sampling when I get back.
I obviously need to make more,to give it a real chance to age.
Patience is not a virtue that I possess....
