Also, I get the impression that TP wash works best in areas where there's higher levels of Sodium Carbonate which counters the acid in the TP.

Nope not me, Aidan I think.

It looks very similar to the stuff I use, I would not hesitate to use that.

If you have not started the wash yet, make sure that your fermenter is stood on something that is easily cleaned, or preferably stood in a bowl or sink. The wash foams like crazy and oozes everywhere. If you try and make the top of the fermenter airtight you will have thick red gooey stuff squirting all over, my shed always looks like one of the film sets from Fredie when I make this. I now start the wash off with a reduced amount of water and then gradually top it up once the initial violent ferment is over.
