The thing about yeast is once you have a yeast you like..there's nothing to stop you from doubling it up and saving a batch. I've done this when brewing..

+1 I have done that many a time brewing. I have to say I don't with distilling 'cos Fermipan is £3.70/kg and I can't be bothered. Made by the same peeps that I pay £80/kg for their wine yeast. Bonkers. .... And yes they are both bulk packs I haven't multiplied up the 5g sachets price :o that would just be off the planet per kg.

Just sayin'

They will both work of course... :) for me I'd go with the Ale yeast as your mashing a grain.

+1 So would I. I would not waste an expensive yeast on something you are going to distil.

I wonder if White labs do a distilling yeast?
