A thin piece of HDPE and some HA6 sealant made a quick repair, if not a lasting one to the ceramic filter.
I had previously twice fixed the carbon filter, and while I could have made a single use until next fill repair, I decided to order replacements for both filters.
In the end I ran the process in reverse;
I simply stood the carbon filter in the upper unit and poured the spirit into it from a jug.
5 litres went through in 30 minutes.
Then I fitted the bodged ceramic filter which took half a day to let the carbon filtered spirit through.
I can't complain really, both filters have been used and re-filled for 5 years.
