It can save a few pennies, and if you have the storage/brew capacity, is no hardship.

tastes great very clean used 5kg sugar.if you are in no hurry may save you a few quid over a long period.not sure if its any better than a full pack using 5kg sugar.i suppose if you are really penny pinching its worth it.
just wanted to see if it worked.

Yes, clear it by putting somewhere cool or adding extra expensive finings.

Alternative Kale,Lentil washes are worth a try.
They are where I am now.
Might tell you something.

If you haven't been there yet, have a gander at the Recipes section here. In particular pay attention to the kale recipe as it's a goody accepted as providing a clearly neutral result.
Point in favour particularly is you can just toss some dried bread yeast at it. Worth a read :)
