if you goto the website, it states that the post is something like 15 quid or so, but if you contact them, they tell you that they are willing to post it cheaper and it worked out at about 12 quid including postage for 8oz of sparkolloid which isnt too bad..

its weird stuff tho!.. i cant understand why loads rave about it saying its the best there is, yet no one sells it in the UK?.

im deffo going to get some and try and get my local hbs to import it if possible.
i did ask him about it and he said he'd heard of it but couldnt get it for some reason, but i dont think he knows about brewhaus.

maybe he could get it direct from the manufacturer or something?.. who knows.

And no liquid carbon yippee ;D
Still use classic for the bite you need for dark spirit flavours.

i did give it a stir yesterday and il do the same today to see if the sg will drop anymore

i think my conclusion is that the vs is ok with 7kg and not 8kg but its my first go with 8kg and we all know how temperamental these turbo washes can be.

lets see what tomorrow brings.

my experiment on the other post reusing VS sediment has been an abject failure

gut feeling is that this yeast works hard at alcohol production not reprducing itself so much because thinking about it there is never that much sediment after brewing and this trial wash is still bubbling but never fast so gravity is crawling down. Also finings may have affected it too.
Shoved a new sachet in and hopefully back to normal soon.
Methinks these yeasts are bred for a single use unlike commercial brands. at end of day a sachet isn't exactly a fortune I suppose.
Could be way off the Mark but ? ???

the starting gravity was about 1.100 ish ( i was well pissed but i did take a foto lol)
and its going well so il keep an eye on it and see how it goes.

AAAAND before anyone says im a bit mental, I ALREADY KNOW! lol... i just wanted to give it a try as the last vs on here was made with 7 kg and that went well, so i thought id try 8 kg.
