the other thing thats a pain is gassing the wash to oxygenate it and iv come up with a pretty good solution to that too lol...THE STICK BLENDER!..

i was sat degassing a wash and every now and again, the blender would get some air in and whip it up into millions of bubbles and i thought, what a pain in the arse that is but even though it was dragging air in, it was still doing the best job of degassing so i carried on using it..

then one night when i was putting a wash on, i started to gas the wash with the usual "paddle on the drill" , and i thought... what if i used the stick blender but constantly kept it near the top to drag air in???... and it worked!..

BUT... it splashed all over the effin place and i stopped using it lol.....

then i come up with the brainwave of feeding the head of the blender with an air supply when its submerged!!!!, and that actually worked.....

the gas-degasser mk1 was a stick blender with some 3mm tube rammed into the bottom and even though it did initially work, it did chew the rubber pipe up so i binned that and looked for another way to get air into the blender head...

then.... on the mk2, i decided to drill a hole into the top of the head and feed it with a straw and hey presto, it worked!.

so now if i was to degas, all i do is use the blender as normal, and when i want to gas, all i do is poke a straw into the hole in the blender head and its fed with a constant air supply that the blades whip up and almost atomise the air into the wash.

the blender cost £4.50 from asda if anyone wants to give it a try
