I'll conceed that there is probably an official E number for regular butter too,if you use that to anti-foam.

One of my reasons for home distilling is to keep the rubbish away from my product.

Maybe I've developed paranoia.
Or maybe they really are coming to take me away, ahah, hee, hee
Robert.

Seems like a good buy for anyone who prefers to use an Antifoam agent instead of oil or butter and if you're also getting other items to cover the postage. ;D

I went looking for the gripe water but we must have used it all up, that's definately worth investigating if it is the same thing.

Anyway, I run my 38litres plus 2 teaspoons of crisp n dry with no problems, even run it a little harder than I originally planed so all is well :-)

Well I've just dosed 38lts of my grain/rice/sugar thing with 2 tea spoons of crisp n dry, my boilers 50lt so it's looking quite full!

I'll take it slow to be on the safe side

Rape seed oil, known as Crisp n Dry is my choice also, I find it breaks down with washing up liquid quite well when it comes to cleaning

If you're looking at something you may already have I'm stuck at butter or vegetable oil, both of which I detest because they make my still grungy so I don't use them.

Good point A, I use a pot head for a strip run on my T500 so its easy to clean up, but if someone uses a keg and column it could be a bit yucky.

What can I use that I may already have? I've heard of people using butter, oil etc as an antifoaming agent
