Thx guys, your really patient and helpful towards a complete newbie who's probably asking stupid basic questions...
I know what it's like from brewing forums where newbies ask the same questions and you think "Just do a feckin' search" lol ::)
All being well I'll start a copper still build in a few weeks when all my bits n bobs arrive.

John you won't get the "Just do a feckin' search" post on here... ;)

However if you want a neutral spirit there are better and cheaper ways to do it.

After all with any wine/wash, once you have distilled the alcohol off the rest goes down the sink.

1.Yes, I am sure bread yeast would work,- the first time that I recall seeing WOW mentioned on this site,a Turbo yeast was recommended, and the drink was promoted as a fast ferment cheap dry white wine.Nowhere near as upmarket as the product alluded to in the link provided,or with as much work involved.
2.As stated by previous posters,it would be excessive effort and cash to expend upon a wash for distillation. You may as well use a TP or lentil wash.
Hoping that helps the OP.

Robert.

Edit;As I wrote this,I see that AM also replied,with a similar WTF?
I would like to say that Great Minds think alike, but I suspect that the two of us share the one,and I forget which of us has responsibility for it this week!
