I'm a new member and relatively new to my Airstill.
Having realised that I dont actually have to stick to the over-priced SS products and that I can actually use other products to create mash, I am struggling to find any advise re clearing the mash.
I can find lots of comments on how important a clear mash is to go into the airstill, but little advise on the use of finings or not. Use of turbo klar appears expensive, and some people have mentioned bentonite. Others say just leave it to clear itself.
However having just read an article on puking in the airstill and importance of clarity of the mash, I thought that I would ask for help from the forum.
I would like to try a sugar wash using bakers yeast, ss vodka star and even alcotech 48, but I'm concerned with the mash clarity before distilling in the airstill?
Any thoughts?
