Drewzy here from Ontario, Canada.

I've been reading the forums here heavily over the last couple week after finding the site through a google search on the airstill.

I've purchased it a few days ago and am sitting infront of it at the momment watching my second strip run drip beautifully into my glass collection jar...what a wonderful sight!

i'm brand new to distilling but am about a year old into home brewing. I currently make all grain beers, wine from grapes and now my own likker!

i'm hoping to make a home for myself here when it comes to distilling and i hope i can be of some assitance as well.

Cheers!

Welcome aboard Drewzy, it appears we're big in Canada.

The Airstill is a lovely machine that works well and does a good job if used right ;)

Welcome........

If you run it the once, it does the job. If you then let the spirit down to 40% or less and run it again, it'll do about 80 to 85% ABV no problem.

Not the quickest way of course, reflux stills will do a whole 25 litre batch in the same time it takes to run an airstill batch twice, to a higher strength, but if small amounts produced nice and discretely are your goal, then bingo, that's what you'll get.......

i just spent the last 2 days striping down a 25 litre wash. i got short of 7 litres of 50% abv ready to be put through for a spirits run.

i bought the easy still cause i wanted to get my feet wet.

i'm going to be building an all copper reflux still with my dad in a month or 2 when i get a good grip on the concept of distilling.

I don't know why this forum is big in canada....i guess knowledge and a good group of people travel fast!

i'm glad to be part of the team.

i look forward to learning loads more and having a great time.

Cheers!
