Airstill stripping runs
Ok so i expect different opinions on this but please advise what % you stop the strip at and also what do you stop the spirit run at in %
i have been going down to 30% strip and 60% spirit are these about right .
on the sprit run first 50ml fores (sling) 250ml heads (keep for later)
and then i carry on collecting until about 60% in 100ml jars and then smell them all see what smells good.i normally end up with about 1100ml of around 70% + then dilute to 40% before filtering.

Sounds good to me N.G. although I would collect down to about 40%
on the spirit run. There is always a use for tails.

Sounds good to me too mate.
These days I do not go down to tails if I can help it.
Fores make good fire lighting fluid, heads sometimes get re-distilled or used as a general wipe up liquid.
That is for the Airstill.
I get slightly different results using my bigger homemade reflux version.
Robert.

What a nice little bit of kit the Airstill is.
A lot of people poohoo them, but those who
learn to use them properly with skill, can
produce a really good finished product.
I for one will never part with mine. And for
small batch Gin making it is the nuts.

Same for me.
I have built a couple of larger stills, but would not part with my bought Airstill.
And yes, it is ideal for small scale gin production.
Robert.
