Soft drink wash

Has anyone thought about how much sugar is already dissolved in soft drinks? I read the other day that coca cola has over 100gm per litre and it got me thinking!
Is it possible to buy cheap full fat cola or lemonade that has most of the required sugar for a wash already dissolved in it, Aldi does lemonade at 39p for 2 litres, I think you would still have to add some sugar but in the range of 2-3kg per 25litre wash and you might get a nice lemon note in the final spirit.
I will buy a bottle and measure the SG and PH to see if it could be a worth while experiment

I'm gonna buy two bottles, work out how much sugar to add and mix it up in a demijohn, see if it ferments out fully.

I dont get what you are trying to achieve? At 39p per 200g of sugar you are already paying 2.5 times the cost for your sugar source, than just buying granulated sugar.
If you want it to taste like lemon, then just add lemons
You can macerate in distilled spirit, add flavouring to the boiler on the spirit run, or pass the vapour through the fruit like making a gin.

I never look for savings on home brew as they are already built in. Buying Vodka Star yeast and white sugar where it is convenient for me to shop gives me 40%abv at less than £1.50 per litre.
Assuming I could halve that cost, I'd have have to go through 10 litres a week to be £7.50 a week better off.

It was just an idea, I bought two bottles of Aldi's finest rola-cola as it has 106gm per litre, twice as much sugar as there lemonade, the SG turned out to be 1.042 so you would still need to find the other half of the sugar, but if it was ever on a crazy offer it might be worthwhile.
Does make me wonder if there is something out there that has a higher sugar content and is cheaper!
