Big Spring Tasting
There has been some chat about getting together for a big tasting.
Option 1
Camp over. Arriving on the Saturday, pitch up. All hands BBQ for supper. Tasting around a camp fire.
Option 2
Curry over. Some towns have BYO curry houses. Let's find one with a few cheap B&B's. Vodka jellies are good for these events
Sunday head home when safe.
I am happy to organise but would people would be interested?
Ideas.. Thoughts.. Comments?

Option 1 for me...would be easy to sort out.
I tried to be normal once, worst two minutes of my life.

Re: Big Spring Tasting
VJ's and a curry house are not worth my travel time.
It is surely intended as a tasting and get together, not a quick piss up?
I favour the first option.
If you can find a campsite,in the North of England, that caters for all camping methods, then I may be up for this.
Robert.

Thanks Robert.
I agree with you the geography will be important.
Let's see how many people are interested.

Aye, me also.
I would take along a best favourite Malt, and a best favourite neutral.
Time is too short for anything more.

I think it's a lovely idea but would need firm promises by members to actually attend if they say they will.
I'd suggest a Bank holiday weekend over the summer some time.
I'd like to attend but with my elderly parents care to consider, I don't know how I'm fixed until very near the time.

That would be nice

Would give anyone time to get there and relax with an extra day

This is a worry as we were going to a get together a few years back and had to cancel at the last moment, but that's life.

Bank hols are a good idea in principle except, campsites will be teeming with punters.
Might be more difficult to arrange campfires/discounts/block bookings etc -Just a thought?

Re: Big Spring Tasting
Well then, good for you Mash for starting this....and may it happen.
FTR I would LOVE to come (though I suspect no one shall be forthcoming with the airfares
) and I hope you can grab a decent cross-section of fine forum folk to attend.
IMHO, just set a time/date and go for it mate....as(in Australia at least) all good intentions of a get-together may fail to eventuate when trying too much to please the masses.

Bang on mate, I recommend that Ice says "here" and "now", be "there", or miss it.
I'll do my best...

Re: Big Spring Tasting
The best thing about forums I've been involved with has been putting faces to screen names.
Through this, my wife and I have met some people who will be friends for life.
If this forum can arrange a weekend get-together and it's within a hundred miles radius, then I will look forward to meeting you.
