I think you have all the info you need from the previous posters.

The Silicic acid in the formula forms a \'gel\' which attaches itself to the defunct yeast cells and sticks them together. The Chitosan reacts with and causes the yeast cells to flocullate, ie. form clumps which sink to the bottom.

Don’t anyone be tempted to try egg white to clear a wash,, I did and trust me it don’t work it leaves loads of protein in the wash which makes it impossible to distil, it has the same effect as boiling milk, it gushes and fills the demijohn with wash (not spirit)
