Re: SD Bubble Tees
I would have had my latest SD delivery today but I missed the postman, ordered Thursday 27th November until today is 11 days but 4 of those days are weekends, so it would be fair to say, delivered in 7 working days to Blackpool area.

Re: SD Bubble Tees
Hi AT
They fit on the bolt, just below the head at the top, or bottom as you look at the pro cap,
When installed in the plate the bolt is on the bottom of the pro caps, you bend the pointy metal bits the way you want the down coming liquid to flow, it will flow out the cap and follow the metal strip until it drops off.
If your only running one plate you won't need them, but if you have several plates you might want to arrange them to make the returning liquid go to the sides of the section or all to the middle, from what I can tell from looking at pictures of crystal dragons, they normally alternate between them all pointing towards the middle on one plate, followed by them all pointing to the sides on the next, hope this info helps, how about a pic of your latest acquisition?

Re: SD Bubble Tees
I mainly use my iPhone and it's not completely compatible with up loading images since IOS 8
I can find the pic easy enough and click upload but it doesn't redirect me back to my post, but if you open all pages, close the one that's open and return to the text editor, you will see the image text has appeared in the editor.
I also find I need to edit the pics by rotating them to ensure they post the right way up.

Re: SD Bubble Tees
Well that's the cleaning run done and all seems pretty good
Couple of slight weeps but easily sorted
Could see some good bubbles through the mist so reflex and plate looks good
Will check everything over tomorrow but all looks well for the forthcoming run

Re: SD Bubble Tees
Dear Aidan, I can see that your delivery with the free replacement glass lenses already arrived two days ago, that's pickup date + 4 working days from Austria to Ireland, I'd say not bad at all, especially despite the fact that shipping times can double during Christmas time. Clearly not a general issue with the hand-off partner for Ireland then. Greetings, Michael

I did run it on Wednesday but was interrupted several times so it took a long time to complete.
The run was relatively unremarkable other that the fact that,by the end of the run, the tails were almost non-existent and the flow reduced to drip by drip so I powered down shortly after the Tails appeared.
My normal setup involved a thumper and I always knew the quality of the product I could expect from that setup. With the Torpedo and 2 Bubble Tees what I got was approximately the same but with a neater and simpler configuration.
It quickly became evident that this type of equipment must have a Dephlegmator to achieve it's potential. Without reflux the plates don't get charged and at lower power input levels the activity at the plates is minimal.
On two occasions, after having had to power down for short periods (15-30minutes), I manually charged the plates by opening the tri clamps on the Lyne arm and pouring some neutral onto the top plate and watching the liquid overflow each plate until the bottom plate was flooded. With this done I increased the power and got some good activity going once the temp got back up.
All in all the setup of a Torpedo and 2, 4" Bubble Tees worked and made my stilling much much simpler but I was only getting about 60% of the potential of this equipment.
For a pot still setup like mine, a Big Baby Dephlegmator is a mandatory piece of kit. I'm currently making a twin coiled condenser and VM head to do the job for me but, when the new year budget kicks in, I'll be getting a Big Baby and new coolant setup as the old garden hose setup looks out of place with all this shiny, professional looking, stainless steel.
Did I mention the build quality is exceptional. My hybrid column is a thing of beauty and awe. I love it already. That baby doesn't get left in the workshop it's brought into the house when not in use.
@Michael
Fair point, it seems someone in the logistics chain got their festive finger out and did their job properly. Many thanks for your generosity and my appreciation to you and Sunshine for the inclusion and good wishes in the package.

Interesting AM
I might try it on the pothead when I do a whisky run should be enough natural reflux condensing for one bubble plate
How did you find the carry through of the flavour ??
