more tea earn?

Postby splifi » Thu Dec 06, 2012 11:12 pm

With xmas approaching and two whole beautiful weeks away from work, i need a project or the wife will find me a project of her own :o .Since being bitten by this distilling bug and reading this great forum from front to back.I am now seriously thinking of building a reflux still.I have seen a few designs on here and the net.
So i am pricing up items i would need copper pipe, fittings solder and a boiler ect. Then the idea is when asked by family what i want for xmas i am going to ask for cash, plus the money i will save from buying all the xmas spirits for the freeloading relative that show up once a year and drink you dry i will put towards building a still. So on my search i have come across this for a boiler

would this be ok for the job?
thanks splifi

20 litres is a bit on the small size, 30 litres would be more usefull and very similar to the one I used

the 30 litre one also looks very much like john51's viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1398&p=10952#p10952

Only problem I see is this feature

The homefront premium catering urn also has a power saving feature in that the water only heats up when the water temperature drops, it is not on constant boil.

If that can be overridden and if it has a decent seal it could be a bargain
