Question about the SS reflux and output flavours

Just a very quick question .... or 2 :)

i have been doing alot of research, and i had read that a reflux still dose not give as much flavour to the output (vrs a pot), is this true?

Is there any way to effect (increase) this, such as collecting some \"tails\" to mix in??
i do understand that you do get much higher %ABV, so this might be the trade off.
thanks in advance

Depends what you\'re making - if it is a neutral, then you don\'t want those flavours anyway and you could then use an essence/kit to get a reasonable flavour after that. If you\'re after making a \'proper\' whiskey or whatever, you shouldn\'t really do it with a reflux although some let you remove or otherwise muck about with the column to get a pot-still type function.

thnx for the info jimmy :)
Edit :- forgot to say, i am alittle undecided, as i would love to make my own rum, however the essence way may be better.

They get better if you leave them a few weeks too, but like hoppinmad mine rarely get chance to age much!
