Hi guys,

Today I did my last strip run, but I found this strange porridge at the bottem.
I guess this is yeast and sugar?
What's the reason of this or is this common?

It's about 1 inch / 2,5cm thick

No sugar, just yeast, and that's perfectly normal.

It can be terribly sticky stuff, it continues to amuse me!

Get a trigger shower head and a short length of hose. On the cold tap this is an awesome yeast Lees blaster. It is also good aerator when topping up.

Nah, bollocks to that. I'll just carry on using the spray head/flexy hose kitchen tap we had fitted 2 years back.......

Works a treat for shifting lees from the bottom of my buckets.....

Although a hosepipe in the garden will certainly get less shouting at from her indoors!

Having to rely on a septic tank, I am wary of what gooes into it, and lose a lot of mashing and stilling liquid and sludge onto the ground of the wide outdoors.
The chucks usually manage to pick the big bits out of it.

I have found it very good for tanks. Mine gets 3 buckets on lees per year and emptied once a decade.
