What I Did Today
What I Did Today
Why not write a couple of lines about what you did today.
I have just finished a 20L Rum spirit run. While that was bubbling away, I racked off 25 litres of Weetabix and All Bran from the heated fermenter into the settling bucket then recharged the fermenter with another batch of the same.

Re: What I Did Today
I put together my first sugar mash today in anticipation of receiving my t500 in about 4 days. I can't remember the last time I was as excited as I am now. Lol

Re: What I Did Today
I found a local Feed supplier who sells Mollasses. Got my self 5L for £7.95p
That saves me a long drive to Stockton on tees and back.
I also recently bought a SS Super Reflux. I may sell on a few of my other stills.
Shame there isnt a Sell Your Stuff section on the forum.
I'll be selling a Smart Still, Mint condition.
And a 30" column 2" copper pot head with a condensor and a tri clamp with silicon seal, and a free 50l beer keg.

Re: What I Did Today
After 3 months of no action I stripped my first 50lt wash of the year. Just a sugar wash but it feels great to get the equipment up and running again.
My new workshop/distillery in more or less finished but I'm going to have to rearrange my equipment setup to make it easier to manage things. While trying to make a minor adjustment to my parrot on the stripping run I managed to crack one of the joints and I'll have to remake it before I can use it again

Re: What I Did Today
Fixed the 4stroke generator
Beeswaxed the hiking boots and the workboots
Bottled a homebrewed Stout
Collected heaps of fruit and firewood
Set up a system test plan for a startup IT company
Recalibrated SWMBO-based favours via NUMEROUS domestic engineering duties
Blah blah blah....
What I do now is enjoy a gifted Laphroaig Triple Wood single malt (Barrel strength, neat).....as its 10 years (to the day) since I gave up smoking, and I reckoned that's a good thing personally.
Cheers to all. Have a great day.

Re: What I Did Today
Cooked some oxtails on an all day slow cook for dinner tonight, then helped my daughter paint a model castle for a school project.
Then did the spirit run on my single malt, got just shy of a gallon at barrel strength. Cut worked out about 74-63% so expecting a light whisky. Just running out the feints just now.

I got a start SG of 1.114 on the molasses/yellow sugar wash for the rum,,
The turbo is bubbling pretty good,
