Is a continuous filter possible?

Postby John51 » Sun Aug 12, 2012 3:34 pm

If the filtration time was slow enough, say 1 litre in 24 hours then assuming there is room up top, the filter can be charged with 3 or 4 litres of spirit and all I have to do is keep it topped up and change/reactivate the carbon when needed.

Or am I being too lazy? :)

I'd say go for it. I truly believe that time plays a part in quality, slow filtered spirit sounds good to me, but I would be particular about keeping air out of your pre and post-filter stages as the longer the filter time the more likely you are to have evaporative loss, but then again I am a superstitious Irishman who believes in giving the "Angels Share". Keep your filter set up in a cool place with no sunlight, a fan should help also.
