They have a farm shop and cafe, so we stocked up on steaks and then had a lovely lunch sat beside a wood burner.

Back in the day that I was a Turbo fan, I used to halve the the packs of Alcotec to the recommended volume of water.
It always worked, It just tasted the same. >:(

Nice one! You obviously didn't have the shaped by the sky chunks of frozen water trying to slice your head off as I did today!

It was 2-3% and we had a little sleet, but I had a courtesy car due to go back after daughter-in-law pranged my car and I may not be Scottish or from Yorkshire, but no way was it going back with extra fuel in it compared to when received and I'll siphon booze and risk a mouthful but not diesel ;)

@ Easydrinker
yes cheers I am only using Vodka Star for
neutral, its just so easy and after 2 runs thru
the T500 very acceptable. for all else I use
Allinsons,so much cheaper.

Concure with that gaza. I like to run mine twice then carbon filter (belt and braces etc). It makes for a very neutral neutral IMO ;D

Note to ones self, don't ever try to mash 3kg of malted rye in the Grainfather again!!!

It's a constant stuck mash, despite constant stirring and even lifting out the malt tube on one occasion to see if I can get it to unstick!!

If only I had a braumeister where the pump works by taking liquid from the top and pumping it up though the grain, maybe one day :(

Spoke to a chap on the Loch side yesterday, he told me that a new Gin distillery was opening in Wigtownshire just outside Newton Stewart.

T500 boiler with pot head is doing a strip run and I'm sipping at my honey hooch, only bottled yesterday.

It's 1.5 litres of neutralish (as neutral as a pot still will do), roughly 1/4 of a bottle of essencia kentucky bourbon essence (ie less than they say to use) and a very generous dollop of honey.

Last time I put less honey in and a drop or two of vanilla and of glycerol, but that was with airstill product. This one is nicer young but maybe still needs a drop of glycerol since I used so much less of the essence than suggested.

Slow day in the Pyro’s distillery, knocked up some Limoncello for the wife and her daughter. To day has been mostly planning as her indoors goes out tomorrow making it easier to get on with some serious work.

I wasn’t very happy with the chilli vodka that I made so have started again using the skin of one chilli only, looking and tasting better already.

I see a bottle of Bramble Vodka Liqueur that requires my undivided attention.

I have finally got the day properly started, I managed to get the still on first thing, but have had to wait until the dog has been walked and the wife has went to work before getting to grips with things.

First job will be making up a gallon of Irish, then rotate my 3 brew bins, my total work space is 27X37 Inches, and so this is a tight operation. Clean and refill one bin, move and Clear a 2nd, and finally moving one into position in order to fill the still. It’s tight but works.

As I am running out of bottles I am coming to another stop and will have to cease the finishing proses until I can find an alternative supply. Sounds like some early morning dumpster diving.

I had very similar problems until I convinced wife that we were helping the world survive by putting 60%abv booze into curry, bolognese and coffee jars instead of dumping them

edit : I still haven't worked out who in my block of flats buys 1.5 litre vodka from tesco. I bet it's a git I don't like, but I still scoop the bottles.
