hi every one I would like to say thanks to all the contributers on this great site,I am hoping this query comes up i the right place ,Iam not very good with these computer things anyway my query is if I wish to do a second spirit run after a initial stripping run and the spirit run should I make similar cuts to the first spirit run
would be greatfull for any help

You are talking about triple distilling, right? I am not sure if this would be at all useful if you are running a reflux column. Assuming that you are running a pot still, then you would still make cuts but should be discarding much less as fores, heads, and tails. You are just "cleaning up" the cuts that you made the first time.

Could you please clarify what type of still you are using, what type of spirit you are aiming for and the wash used.
That way any answer you get here will be more beneficial to your desired outcome.

I am running a smart still and using a triple still turbo yeast wash I am aiming to try to get a nuetral as spirit as I can with this type of still .

I can highly recommend Aidanmacs guide for getting the best from the AirStill here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1216#p9758

Also Mozrs guide is a gem: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=765

Both guides have helped me produce some respectable alcohol from the little AirStill.

In my experience, you can only get close to neutral with this still if you carbon filter the result. Otherwise, it has a distinctly sweetish taste to me.

I Agree with Chuck

You will never get neutral with an AirStill, but following Aidans or Mozrs guide you will get something far better than the guides that come with the still. I remember my first Airstill run tasting decidedly sugary.

At the end of the day, the AirStill is a great introduction to wet your appetite into something bigger, Its what convinced me to build my first pot still, and now I want to build a Bokakob. Damn this hobby. I still love my little old AirStill.

Second Spirit Run does get rid of the sweetness but I never do it.

I should qualify what I said earlier. A second Spirit Run (3rd run) does get rid of residual sweetness provided the original wash was fully fermented.

In fermenting sugar washes it is worth adding a little Amyloglucosidase (AG or Gluco Amylase) to convert any remaining unfermentable sugars into fermentable sugars.

IMHO the key to neutral not being 'sweet' is mainly based on
how much sugar you try to dissolve in a certain capacity wash and
how much sugar actually is dissolved suitably and therefore 'spent' in the ferment process (given appropriate yeast/feed)

IMHO, using less sugar in the wash (eg TPW); spending time to 'ensure' that the sugar is dissolved; and running a constant temp ferment for 'a long time' works well in terms of the finished product lacking residual sweetness....regardless of still used.

A triple distill will (of course) assist too but...
