Re: badsmell and taste
The 200ml that you threw the first time are gone and will not return so no need to throw more.
The act of diluting the distillate alone will "wash" the product and clean up the taste leaving more of the undesirables behind in the boiler each time. Having said all that, redistilling will also concentrate any remaining Heads and Tails in the queue ready to be taken off the still. It is up to you whether you add them to the hearts or tip them into the feints jar.
Try it and see, take off a few small samples at the beginning of the run and ALSO when you get near the end of the run collect the distillate in smaller bottles using . Just to be sure, leave the samples air for 24/48 hours, test them at less than 40% and then decide what you are going to do with them.
Each time you do this the amount of heads and tails will be greatly reduced and I am sure that if you do this three times you will end up with alcoholic water.
