Can anyone point me to such a table please?
I know I've seen one somewhere, can't find it.....
Have been pointed to one published by Husker, it doesn't like my input ???

Wash or Spirit hydrometer?
Could probably post something on the morrow, if not beaten to it.

Robert.

Ahhhh, no it doesn't. Haven't seen that before Robert but can probably work it.

Question though....I'm reading AV% at the still take off at temps typically around 80C and above.
Does this work there?

That table stops adjustments at 35C - would the adjustment be greater for higher temps or am I going about this the wrong way?

Ahhh, now I savvy!

Thought about where I'm going wrong. Temps I'm reading are at the still head before any cooling. Distillate won't be dropping into my jar at any temp as high as I'm looking at there. It's warmish but not that warm.....

Life does get complicated though Robert....

I changed my way of doing things and took temps today @ distillate takeoff, along with alcometer reading then applied the table corrections.
Left things to cool for a couple of hours, came back checked temps 20C. Sweet.

So, got busy with the alcometer again. Not so sweet, variations from the table corrections across the board, up to 4%.
Revisited Huskers correction table and now able to align it with my alcometer.

At the end of the day I learned something.....once I corrected my fuzzy logic..... :-[

@Pack: For accuracy, I cool everything down to 20 C before measuring. I bought a frig just for my work.

However you should be able to print one off the internet.

@ Pack: You should have a product cooler on your PDA.

One reason I have never bothered with a parrot is the temp at that point.

Better still use a refractometer

@Icefever
@RJ
@Mashy

Thank you gentlemen. In order now :D

Yes Iceman, exactly like that. Interactive is good....

There is a product cooler (liebig) on the unit RJ and like you I don't and won't bother with parrot for the same reason. Usually leave distillate to air and cool overnight, just trying to speed things up a little.

I have one of those Mashy. Used it for winemaking, never thought about it fr this :-\

Well that's not viable. Unless there is a conversion table for Brix/AV....
