I am not sure how to read/respond to this....
Maybe a few more details?
Thanks to a thread on here, and a few users inputs,I am now 6 months without tobacco, with the help of e-cigs,and now expect to live a little longer.
What are you doing smoking Allbran mate?
Robert.

Giving up that weed can be difficult, am aware....Robert I'm following through on a thought a couple of weeks back - idea is to see if any smokey flavour can be carried through and eventually out of a run....Manuka again, all I had to hand, personally don't mind the flavour it imparts, if it works here will be rapt but saw today there are some difficulties ahead....Like all good things I guess...

Don't mean to be picky Alan but a 25lt wash requires 5tsp of Sparkolloid, boiled in 1Cup of wash or water then added to the wash to be cleared. I presume that's what you really did

Not taking sides here but to me it is 1TBL spoon for 23 litres.which could well be 5TSP.

Put down a weetbix/allbran wash 3 days ago. Used the wood smoked component I'd done prior, about one third of the grain bill. Smoke aroma carried thru well....until today.
Had a bright idea to try to further increase flavour complexity with a caramel component. So made up some caramel and tossed it in, hot-to-trot. Solidified on contact with wash, then dissolved again. (Stirred well, no lumpy bits found). Though I probably killed of a few yeast cells, it's now going very audible gang busters and has thrown up a huge krausen for the second time.
Brew room smells of smoke no longer, caramel has taken over.
OSG of 1100 had dropped to 1010, caramel addition took it back to 1018.

Thought so

I use a baking teaspoon measure and sometimes only use 4 measures to a 25lt as the stuff isn't all that easy to get so I try to use as little as possible. I have a small pot and gas ring to boil the mixture as it is activated by being boiled for a few minutes - according to the manufacturers.
After boiling one batch I suddenly had to go out and left the pot on a bench in my workshop and promptly forgot about it till much later that evening. When I returned to the workshop it had set like very thick jelly

Just stripped my second of 4 wash's and now have 10litres at 50%, wash 3 is almost finished, each one was 25litres but I'm tempted to make wash 4 a 40litre batch in my big (never used but had for ages) 60litre bucket.
All building up to a monster of a spirit run :-)

--------------------
Go for it. With a very dry sugar wash, shooting for neutral, I can squeeze 45l into my 50L keg for stripping- It needs to be dry and cleared a little else it will puke.
I always leave plenty of headroom for the spirit runs though.
So 2x45L strips results in 23L@45% or so of low wines with my 11% wash, and makes for a very productive spirit run (35l+ still charge let down to sub 30%)
Molasses or AG washes cant be filled beyond 35L for the same reason, and I normally use a silicone based anti-foam for those washes.

Today I fitted an element for my new HLT. Got the themowell fitted round the other side, and will fit the bottom drain and sight glass sometime this week.
Will get round to cladding it all in pine sometime next month.
