what %age of 4litres turns into alcohol
hi scrappybill,
i dont use triple distilled, usually alcotec vodka star and now alcotec48, and i take at least 800ml to get 60%, infact when i did my last alcotec48 wash i forgot to set my timer to switch it off and when i came in from the garden i had 1400ml and it was still 50%, it smelled and tasted ok so i put it in the demijohn with the rest. try experimenting a little to see what you can get from your wash, you can always put it back through if you dont like what you\'ve produced.
cheers, hoppin

Interestingly I am finding the same. I was getting a completed wash at 14% which gave me an easy 800ml at 60%. the last couple of batches have not achieved that and I am not sure why.
First notices a vodka star batch ws not as strong as expected and thought perhaps I have made a mistake with the sugar. Then ran a Alcotc turbo and the wash was weaker than expected. All brewed out SG down at 970-980 so not sure what is going on.
With the weaker wash you obviously get less at 60% and that number seems to be about 700-750.
Buggered if I know what is going on.
Vodkas star wash in process at the moment for a reference.
Thought I would try the bakers yeast approach too
