Cherry Bomb

I have a jar of Morello cherries in very light syrup that I want to add to a couple of litres of vodka to make something delicious and mysterious. They are pretty bland and watery out of the jar. Any recipes or suggestions?

I've made a very nice brandy by sweating fresh cherries, sugar, cinnamon and cloves. But "this" to quote Jim Morrison. "This is something else" O0

Bland and watery out of the jar then diluted in a couple of litres of vodka sounds more like Cherry Blah than Cherry Bomb to me. Sugar and cinnamon will help some, but I'd be looking for more and more flavourful cherries.

I would chop the cherrys up and cover them in sugar and leave them to melt into a goo, then pour the goo into a jar for storage, add more sugar and leave it to "goo" some more, collect it the same way, then use the collected syrup to flavour your vodka.

I'm sure I read this process for strawberries somewhere but can't remember where I found it.

I've got two large cherry trees in my garden, ones now blocking my sky dish!!!
It would be good to get some cherry's one year but the birds always beat me too it :(

You could just soak the birds in Vodka! ;D Hmm, no, that probably would not be good regardless of how many cherries they had eaten.

You know that you are on to something really special when the the main ingredient is goo. :D I'll give it a goo Anarvin. I missed the cherry season this year and when I found this jar at the deli I thought it might be my second chance. I just chucked half a dozen in my glass of vodka to see where I'm headed. O0
