They seem to have assumed in the manual that you cut the fores and tails on the strip runs.? In which case yes there’s no need to cut fores, however others on here much more experienced than me have advised collect everything on the strip run then make your cuts on the spirit run.
I’ve only done 5he whole process once but it seems to me that without a power controller it was tricky to control the temp so 5hat it didn’t shoot right up to 80 odd degrees and for me it meant juggling glassware to try to seperate out the fores from the heads and the heads from the hearts etc
My advice is that if you’re doing a spirit run without a controller, just collect the cuts (lots of th3m) in 250 ml jars except where it’s clearly a big heart portion then take a litre of that and then back to 250’s
